Welcome to our Employee Spotlight series, where we take a moment to recognize the incredible individuals who drive the heartbeat of our organization. Our hope is to shine a light on the diverse talents, unique personalities, and wonderful achievements of the people who make up our treatment community. We invite you to get to know the faces behind Momentum's success stories and learn more about the people who make our workplace a vibrant and dynamic home.

How long have you worked at Momentum?

8 years. I started as a client and eventually came back to work here as a recovery coach. That turned into an opportunity to become a case manager and then after completing grad school, I came to work on the clinical team as a therapist. I am the first alumni to obtain both their social work and addiction licenses.

What do you enjoy most about working here?

We're given a lot A lot of creative freedom to implement interventions that you might not find in another treatment environment. Also the team approach that we take when working through these modalities with clients.

Can you share a memorable moment or achievement during your time at Momentum?

During my time working in recreation therapy, we took the guys on the first ever Momentum camping and overnight trip to Pilot Mountain. We went rock climbing and fly fishing.

Outside of work, what are your hobbies or interests?

Outside of work I spend a lot of time surfing and shaping surfboards. Hanging with my wife Kate and dogs Rye and Hendrix. I also enjoy golfing and spearfishing/free diving.

If you could give one piece of advice to new employees, what would it be?

Be malleable, always stay curious, and don’t take anything personally.
